Heard from a friend whos shooting a film using an oversea actor from Russia, “the standard between Malaysia education system and Russia is like heaven and earth. In Russia, they already learn physics, chemistry and so on while in lower grade (sekolah rendah =_= )”.
Lets continue on how to learn faster. This is the method that i found when i’m taking STPM during form 6 (didnt go to school for half a year before I found this method).
Before that, let me make an introduction to this topic. Malaysian student nowadays likes to learn in a relaxing environment and without the syllabus that the school is always using. I don’t mind if they use textbooks to teach the student, but please don’t make/use the teacher as a textbook too. Everyone is gifted with a set of mind so they can use it to explore the world of knowledge. Please don’t turn people into robot. Thats why i see a lot of student copy paste on the internet (sometimes I did this now and then =_= ).
There are 4 different types of student in Malaysia. The first one is the kind of student that understand each and every word that the teacher teach to them, this kind of student learn very fast and doesnt need to be kept telling over and over again. The second one too doesnt have any problem in learning, but the third kind of student seems to have problem listening or understand what the teacher is teaching. This kind of student can only learn fast if they hear something from the teacher and teach it to his/her friends. By using the knowledge that the teacher give and teach it to another person commonly friends because they feel comfortable, will make them a fast learner. Actually, I belong to this category of student that hear and teach, thats why i know. And the last kind of of student, well rather slow and need to be teach over and over again. From what i see, the third kind of student is the best teacher for the fourth kind of the student. (this is my own opinion without copying/taking it from anyone else).
Lets learn the method of fast learning. What a student need in learning is:
1. Understand what does the teaching media/tool is trying to teach
2. Find each and every point of the topic that are related to the #1
3. Memorize the point and elaborate using your own word
=_= I got praise by my teacher in form 6 for being smarter than the student that always came to school but didnt know what they are learning. Believe it or not, you (the student) need some times to learn by your own when you have the mood to study, rather than go to school, obeying the law, being discipline, listening to a robot, and being a robot in the school.
Allow me to elaborate on the 1st step of fast learning. The 1st step tell you that “you need to understand what does the teaching media/tool such as teacher, books, presentation media/tool, and etc2 trying to teach”. People says that, if you didnt know, you’ll never love. Thats why you need to understand what they are trying to say before you make a conclusion. Human hearts are so fragile and so freaking scared of something new, that we tend to run away from it. By knowing something, we will be more comfortable to it.
For the 2nd step, it says that “you need to find each and every point of the topic that are related to the #1 want”. I will show you an example of a teacher. The teacher always wear smart cloth and always looks smart. From the appearance, we know that the teacher likes simple, smart, cute things. So the teacher is teaching history in the class, and she/he wants you to give her/him a solution to a problem. What you wanna do is find the topic that she/he wanted to hear form you, using basic knowledge of history such as the point of view of economy, social, education, religion, and etc2 as your guidance. Look at the textbooks and find each and every point that you can get. If you cant remember the point that you find, list all of them in a piece of paper and thats it.
The last step says that “you need to memorize the point and elaborate using your own word”. What you wanna do is that, you’ll have to elaborate the point that you find using your own knowledge. If you accidentally like fishing in the lakes, you can elaborate the point using simple word such as:
a. in the paleolithic era, they still doesnt have any fishing rod, and because they doesnt have the technology to catch food, they gather food from the wood (point of view - economy).
Your basic knowledge is that – you understand that paleolitic is the starting era of humankind using formula such as: PMNL (Polan Makan Nasik Lemak, Please Make Neo Listen, and so on) Paleolithic, Mesolithic, Neolithic and Logam (steel).
Try to short things up and make it your own point of view, and from there, make a study group and discuss with your friends your own point of view. But, you and your friends need to understand the topic first before you can discuss until both of understand the related topic.
